Valley Telehealth Partnership

Valley Telehealth Partnership, formerly eHealth Network Project, has launched six satellite health services centers in the San Joaquin Valley, primarily in rural areas. The centers will provide telemedicine services via videoconferencing; telemedicine training for physicians and staff; and educational opportunities for high school and college students

Air Quality Education in Environmental Justice Areas

The Maddy Institute, Community Focus, Inc., and Valley Clean Air Now are working to increase air quality awareness among individuals, city governments, school districts, and builders and developers in three rural Valley communities: Arvin, Avenal and Parlier.

Central California Marketing and Cluster Development

Central California Economic Development Corporation will market the San Joaquin Valley as an excellent location for fostering business development and business attraction and retention.

Building Angel Investment and Entrepreneurship

Golden Capital Network and Pacific Community Ventures are developing a multiregional network of business equity financing linked with business assistance services and deal flow generation activities.

Growing Clean Energy Capacity

This seed grant is to assist in the development of a San Joaquin Valley Clean Energy Organization (SJVCEO) and then launch initiatives through the SJVCEO to assess, develop, organize and initiate clean energy activities in San Joaquin Valley government and agriculture.

Methamphetamine Recovery Project

Central California Social Welfare Evaluation, Research and Training Center (SWERT) will develop a regional collaborative to build a prevention, response, treatment and long-term recovery model program for the abuse of methamphetamine and other addictive substances.

Health Enterprise Zone Project

This seed grant will produce a feasibility analysis to establish Health Enterprise Zones in San Joaquin Valley communities which will provide financial incentives for primary care physicians and dentists to practice in state-designated, underserved, rural and urban areas.

The College Place: A Community-Based College Access Center

The College Place will target non-traditional college goers in easy-to-access community locations and help them navigate the college application and financial aid, career exploration and the transfer process

English Language Learner Leadership Academy

The English Language Learner Leadership Academy will provide specialized training and support to education leaders from public schools designated as Program Improvement K-12 schools, especially those whose second language students have difficulty meeting state-mandated standards for economic growth.

Integrating Land and Water Solutions in Tulare Lake Basin

Tulare Basin Wildlife Partners will work to create an outreach plan, conservation bank plan and fundraising plan to support environmental needs and land use decisions

Farmland Conservation Model Program

This seed grant will establish an organization to hold and manage interests in protected farmland. It also will develop and implement a centralized computer-based GIS program to track maps from multiple jurisdictions across the San Joaquin Valley

Metro Rural Loop Corridor Preservation Feasibility Study

This seed grant will study the feasibility of a Metro Rural Loop—a multimodal, multicity, and multicounty, transit-oriented transportation corridor system—in Fresno and Madera counties, which could serve as a model for other subregions in the Valley

Sowing Seeds for Community Health

Self-Help Enterprises will help the San Joaquin Valley's underserved rural communities obtain clean water by implementing existing action plans, as well as developing new projects.

Regional Water Plans Integration and Recycled Water Usage

Multiple partners will develop a draft integrated federal and state regional water program, as well as develop a partnership between California State University, Fresno, and the City of Clovis regional wastewater treatment plant.



Funding the vision.

 

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and the state Legislature set aside $2.5 million for Seed Grants for designation by the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley.

The Partnership received 106 concept proposals for the Seed Grants.

The board invited 36 organizations to submit full applications, of which 35 organizations submitted.

Of the 35, 14 proposals were selected to receive funding for projects that meet the goals of the Partnership's Strategic Action Plan.
